I watched it with my 15 year old son, he laughed like a drain all the way through it, he thought it was hysterical. Before long I did too...

Hi,

Fantastic news from Optimum Home Releasing!

They recently released Luc Besson's superb underwater drama Le Grand Bleu (aka The Big Blue) in a digitally-remastered, 164-minute director's cut, French-language version with English-subtitles. However, to anyone who has seen and loved the film for many years, since its 1988 release, you will know that the film isn't and should not be viewed in French at all, as it is Besson's first English-language movie, with almost all of the cast recording the film in English.

Thankfully, after many complaints by fans, Optimum are now re-releasing the film, in its proper English-langauge format, as of this month.

The DVD version came-out (without notification) on 2nd November, but the Blu-Ray release is out on 16th November. Both will be in 16:9 anamorphic, in English, and with a digitally-remastered sound and picture!

If you buy the Blu-Ray release, you also get the option to watch the original Theatrical Version of the film, running to just shy of 2 hours. DVD purchasers, however, do not. :(

I am trying to troubleshoot a problem with my blu-ray player and TV. What I want to do is to play some 1080p/24 material from a USB stick to see if the problem (which is evident when playing 1080p/24 BDs) persists.

Is this possible (I think I need MKV-format material) and if so where can I get such a file? I've seen some on (cough) download sites but I'd prefer something legitimate if possible. It would need to be at least 10 minutes long.

TIA,

In the years between the end of the old series of Dr Who and the new Russell T. Davies version, fans of the series made their own episodes and films.
Probably the most accomplished of these was 1997's Dr Who: The Millennium Trap which sees The Doctor (played here by Nick Scovell) taking on his old foes - the Daleks. Filmed in B+W this is basically a homage to the shows from the 1960s.

Now director Rob Thrush has restored the film with new CGI and some editing. He is planning to release this restored version as a free DVD download from the 23rd of November.
Here is the trailer, together with the announcement of the restored release:
YouTube - Doctor Who: The Millennium Trap Official trailer

For a 'Dr Who Confidential' on the Millennium Trap, check out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1NJo...eature=related

This same team made 4 acclaimed stage productions of various wiped BBC episodes too. Look forward to picking up this Dr Who curio later this month!

I am only connected online via broadband dongle which allows 3GB per month which may also affect what and how much i can access/download. I am new to all this area so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Wilma.
