Hi everyone,I had posteed this in the CRT area, but it was recommended that I post it here instead...hopefully someone can help!

I have a Toshiba 56" WH 08 B Rear Projector Television.

The main problem that I have been trying to address for the past month is the fact that when you switch the power button on the audio or visual does not appear, however the Front LED flashes Red to Green continuously

We changed the power supply to no avail even though the High voltage appears but then the protection circuit kicks in.

Otherwise the set is in very good condition, the tubes are in good nick, no signs of fading.

Any suggestions as to which board this may be on?

Thanks in advance

My Sagem HD-D50 G4 has developed an odd problem - before, when I used to power it on it would flash an orange light, you'd hear a couple of weird noises then about 2 seconds of 50Hz hum then silence and a few seconds later the picture would come up - no problems. I changed the bulb earlier this year, and round about the same time it has started doing the following:-

Power on set - flash orange light as normal, then 50Hz hum starts but this goes on for ages, TV powers up and produces picture fine but hum continues, then it suddenly just stops. Aside from the 1 minute or so of hum on power up, set works absolutely fine.

Any ideas?

Hopefully the title conveys my problem well enough.

Anyway I've noticed that there is roughly a 1cm cut off around the entire edge of the screen. Never noticed it before until I downloaded a theme for the PS3 which has a big bold PS3 sign in the top left hand side, only half the letter P is missing. I've checked with other images and it does indeed cut off the edges of everything slightly. It's not too off putting but if I have an image that comes close to the edge of the page the TV cuts it a small amount.

I was just wondering whether there was some way to resize the screen a little using the service menu perhaps? I've tried fiddling with settings using the TV menu and the PS3, but there is not Horizontal/Vertical tweaking options on the PS3 and certainly none on the set, as far as I can tell.

Any in put would be appreciated.

Much obliged. :hiya:

I've had my Sagem HD-D45 for about 4 years and bought it based on some good reviews at that time and have been really happy with it and even now I look at some Plasmas/LCDs and still think mine looks better. But I've recently bought a Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu ray PLAYER again based on excellent reviews and yes it is a distinct improvement on my old standard dvd player, but when I walk by my local tv shop which has a demo of a blu ray player with a modern plasma/lcd screen, it looks nothing like that in terms of pin point sharpness. Do you think its a set up issue or is the Sagem now being out classed by current flat screen models. Any advice/ help appreciated.

I called in a tech, he came over, and then when I went to show him what the problem was, the tv turned on as if nothing was wrong, and it seemed to work just fine....

but then when he left, it did the same thing again..what could be wrong? The thing is it was turn on, but when I went to move the table back (with the tv on the table) it just turned off, as if the power cable moved somehow and is loose inside and it turned off, I dont know if that is the issue or if according the red light flashing the lamp is the issue...
any help please?

Hey,

A friend of mine has just purchased an Xbox 360 and is experiencing problems on a Sony KDF-50.

Basically, what happens is when plugged in via HDMI the TV has a strange flickering/blurring (Almost makes me feel drunk). When you change the resolution it temporarily tests the image in 50hz and it displays fine before setting itself back to 60hz and having the strange picture again. As far as I can see there is no way to manually set the Xbox with a HDMI cable to 50hz (And I'd prefer to have it set at 60hz) so I don't know what can be done to fix the problem..

Can anyone shed any light on this??

Thanks,
