Picked up Coco Before Chanel today- from the awful Craptimum Home Entertainment...its another BD25 disc but at least they splashed out on a fancy cardboard slipcase with the money they saved using BD25 discs instead of BD50. woooohoooo!!!!!!
I couldn't decide who were worse- Entertainment In Video or Optimum..but it is now without doubt Optimum. EIV seem to be doing things right now and even recently offered free replacements for Snakes On A Plane after it was released missing the Dolby TrueHD audio.
The back of the Coco blu-ray box states BD25/HD Standard 1080p...I think this should say sub-Standard...at least they are good enough to include dts-HD audio!
Will be interesting to see if Warner Bros use a BD50 disc when this is released Stateside.

I see Blockbuster advertising it for £16.99, which is cheaper than the online stores like Play.

But are the high street store copies all 3-disk version as Play and others are selling (inc a 'digital copy')

I've had a BD player for the best part of a year now but I only have around 6 disks, 2 of which I got free and the others are boxsets which were on extreme special offer.

I'm still buying DVDs though my rate of purchase has fallen off - because if it's a film I really want I'm holding of in the hope that BD disk prices drop.

So the nett result is that since buying my BD player the number of disks (DVD and BD) that I buy has reduced dramatically.

I rent movies from Blockbuster and always choose BD because the cost of renting is the same as for DVD.

Personally, whilst the distributors maintain these high prices I can't see the BD revolution happening anytime soon.

I know that DVD prices were high when they came out, but they offered a stunning improvement over VHS. By comparison, BD has to compete with DVD and whilst there is a noticable improvement it isn't as marked as DVD<>VHS in my opinion.

Just my thoughts oin the subject - what do others think.

Cheers,
