Cheap. Capable of working at least 7 devices. Easy to programme. Idiot-proof. Idiot's SWMBO-proof. Did I say cheap?

IR programmable Keypad...

Yo i'm after a we'll priced on wall key pad that can be programmed/loaded with hex codes to control any IR controllable device. I can only seam to find one's that require a central hub/control amp to function. I just want a basic keypad that controls a 4 way slave amp to provide music to different rooms...is this too difficult!!! Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi All,

I`m new Here! :-)

I`m having a few problems with my IR extender in my home cinema system.
I`m Controlling the following devices from my sitting room which are located in another room, approx 5/6 meters away:
Samsung BD-P1600,
Samsung HT-Z320,
Thompson digital TV box,
Sony RDR-HX750.(only there to be used as a means of connecting Digibox by HDMI, thats all....)

My TV is a Samsung UE40B6000VW.

I don`t recall the Make/Model of my IR extender, but it cost �50 and appears to be decent quality.

Firstly,When Controlling my Digital box there is often a delay of about 0.5 second after pressing a button on the remote, also the Menu and Guide buttons require a quick double press to work.

Secondly, When i try to increase the volume of my HT-Z320 surround amp, it just shoots up to max, unless i`m very careful to give it an extremely short button press.

thirdly When The HT-Z320 is powered on , i can barely control the Thompson box as control inputs either don`t get through or are very delayed.

My Bluray and DVD recorder are connect to TV using 20m HDMI cables so i guess i can control the BD using Anynet+ ...

Any suggestions how to improve the system? My house has a Cambridge Audio 4-zone incognito system, and during construction, along side installing the 25m HDMI cables, I had some Cat5 and Coax Cables run from the TV back to the AV press/cupboard thing.(i dont know what to call it :-) )

Remote for PS3 Sony DH800 and TV

Can anyone recommend a good remote control which I can use to do anyway with my existing three remotes for;

Sony SH800

I dont really want to spend much more than �70......I love the remote for the Sony Amp - so want to make sure I keep all the functionaltity of this remote. Would I be right in saying that the Sony DH800 remote would not sync with my PS3?

Amplifier Remote Required

I have an old Denon PMA-350SE hi-fi amplifier. This did not come with a remote control but in the manual it stated that one could be bought. I cannot find this remote anymore as it is old. Would I be able to buy a one for all and would it need the 5+ devices?

When in horizontal disc menu's clicking left or right moves by two options, eg
Menu: a b c
From 'a' click right in attempt to get to 'b'
Issue is that the one click results in two and end up at 'c'

Very strange and frustrating, any suggestions very welcome.

I have just ordered a Harmony One and want to download some of the favourite television channel icons from icon harmony . com.
I have bookmarked the website on my google toolbar.
When I click on the bookmark on my PC at work, it takes me to the site no problem at all.
But when I click on the bookmark on my home PC I get an error message saying that the link is broken.
It's not a firewall or security problem and it's happens all the time.
It's the same bookmark so I can't understand it!! Any suggestions or solutions???

Controlling Rako lights with the TSU9600 scroll wheel

I decided that I would like to control my Rako lights directly from whatever device I'm in, without entering the Rako module. Note that this is not necessarily the best code in the world - the rotary counter should really be a state, and it would be better if I could restart timers (which I can do with my own timer module). But I just wanted something working quickly this evening so was only willing to spend half an hour on it.

When I mention "light button" below, I mean the icon on the display - not the hard button.

The prontoscript below will allow the following :

1) A brief press of the light button on the display switches the lights on to scene 3 if they are off - or switches them off if they are on. Holding the light button down will jump to the Rako module (this assumes you were using the light button to jump to the Rako module already). Note that this assumes all light control is via the pronto - if you use a real light switch the pronto will be out of sync, but that just means you'll need to press the button twice to get it back in sync.

2) The scroll wheel can be used to fade the lights up / down.

Before you can do this, you must understand prontoscript names. These are NOT labels. Each device / Activity can have a prontoscript name (in the Properties). Each page can have a prontoscript name. Each button can have a prontoscript name. Before you can use the prontoscript below, you must create buttons that send RS232 commands as follows. Note that you will need to use your own house number (mine assumes HO:1), your own room (mine assumes RO:4), your own channel (mine assumes CH:1).

Fade up - HO:1\rRO:4\rCH:1\rCOMMAND:1\r

Fade down - HO:1\rRO:4\rCH:1\rCOMMAND:2\r

Stop fade - HO:1\rRO:4\rCH:1\rCOMMAND:15\r

Off - HO:1\rRO:4\rCH:1\rOFF\r

Scene 3 - HO:1\rRO:4\rCH:1\rSC:3\r

Obviously you can choose a different scene if you wish - this is the scene that will be selected if you press the lights button briefly when the lights are off.

You need to give each of these buttons a prontoscript name. They need to be created on a page with a prontoscript name. The page must belong to a device with a prontoscript name. You will see in the prontoscript examples below that I placed my buttons on the RESOURCE_PAGE of my SKY_DEVICE and the prontoscript names for the buttons I used should be obvious.

Now - to be able to use the lights button to toggle the lights on and off you need to track the state of the lights. In the properties page of your Home device, add the following prontoscript :

Note the prontoscript names in capitals - you must use your own names (or name your buttons / pages / device the same as mine).

Now - in the properties page of each device where you want to use the scroll wheel to control the Rako lights add the following prontoscript :

Harmony 785 and VMC

I have just bought a Harmony 785 and would like it to control my HTPC running Vista Ultimate and Media Center. I have an existing IR controller which works fine, but I cant find the correct settings to programme the remote.

Any help would be appreciated

what would you recommend for sending my ir remote signals to a TV stand with solid door, which house Sky HD, Blue ray player and video player.

would like the type that stick over the IR eye one the boxs to a little eye that i could drill hole in door.

I've just changed my tv from a Sony to a Panasonic. Before when my H-One was controlling Sky HD+ the volume button still controlled the tv. Now try as I might I can't get it to work. How do you do this?

Please help prevent a burst blood vessel and lower my stress levels!

Problem BDP-S350 region-free with Kameleon URC-8060

i dont get manage to make my BDP-S350 region free

i ve already got the new code from the hotlineservice, so my Kamelon 8060
has now "learned" the BDP-S350.

but when I go through the procedur I am posting now... nothing happens

or is this the wrong procedur?

Full procedure for a oneforall remote is as follows:

7. Press 00189 (if your oneforall remote uses 4 digit or 3 digit codes, use less leading zeros)
8. Press 1 ( this sets it to key 1 - it flashes twice )

11. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
12. Press 00255
13. Press 2 ( this sets it to key 2 - it flashes twice )

2. Press 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 on the oneforall remote. The 24p light will start flashing
3. Put the player back into standby with the Sony remote
4. Next time you turn on the player it will be region free for DVD playback.
