Playstation 2 @ £129

www.play.com are doing the PS2 at £129 delivered.

This maybe a national offer as the price was dropped in Europe from euro250 to euro199, so others may follow this weekend.

The X-Box is £119 so is that the best price on the net ?

Will I be hit with customs duty if I order this from Play ?

I dont think so, I think they are a Jersey based company, I only think that you get hot on products imported from europe.

maybe best to mail them first and ask.

with R-Type Final , gradius V and metal slug all on the way and the awesome VF4 Evolution, the PS2 still has loads of life left in it for me and it this price people should have one if they havent already.

Plus some of the early games like ridge racer V that alot of people didnt bother with because of mediocre reviews at the time can now be bought for a couple of quid.

You will get hit by customs and have to pay VAT and import duty (17.5% and 10% respectively) boosting the £129.99 PS2 to £153 with VAT and £168 with import duty as well.

I just recieved the Animatrix from play.com and as part of the address label it a had a full customs sticker with the value of the product (only £11.99 so no VAT), a cross next to 'merchandise' etc. Anyway, even without the label, a parcel as large as a PS2/Xbox would almost certainly get noticed. It did sound to good to be true.

i doubt you would get stung on import of a PS2 from play (a PAL) their was a similar offer on a DVD player at CDwow, they would only ship to a UK address. I reckon £129 delivered is the price dispatched from in-side the UK!
PS check first!

Rindless,

I found it by just typing in "x box console" in the basic search field, then clicking on the grey search button. This quickly returned a a page of results with the £89.95 "Buy It Now" offer about mid way down. Not that I'm buying though.
