One I got was last one. It was a discontinued item. They still had the display model left though. Some stores may have some left. They must be selling them off cheap to clear the stock. Maybe worth calling a few stores.

Re: Sony HDR-CX6EK Full HD Handycam

Comet in Watford has it. Was tempting, but don't don't how well it compares against the HF100 which is now only £507 on dixons.

I might get it if someone could tell me how well it compares to the SR-11/SR-12 in terms of image quality.

I didn't buy it online so don't know any comet reference numbers for it. The best I can offer is my receipt which says:
CAMCORDERS
401307 SONY HDR-CX6

I bought mine from the Carlisle branch. They still had one display model left. You could maybe ring and ask them for it's Comet reference number?

*Try the camcorder section of the forum if you want comparisons.

From what I have read in the forums here since getting this, and what I have found myself, it is a stunning piece of kit and the PQ is superb. I have watched stuff back in 1080 by simply putting the Pro Duo card into the PS3 and the quality is stunning.

It's £359 as I have physically seen it. You have to note though, we are talking about the display models.

Hi Naqv,

Thanks for the info and that would explain the difference in price I was quoted.

Can you tell me the one in Watford is it on display in the open or behind a glass counter ?

Many thanks

Indie.

Re: Sony HDR-CX6EK Full HD Handycam

I was in Watford Comet yesterday afternoon - the last one remaining is out on display....& without a *hefty* discount from the £359.99 price, personally I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole!

It's one of those camcorder demo areas where they Camcorders lie around on security cables....leaving all & sundry to pick 'em up & throw them back down without any assistant being there. Imagine what that's done to the sensitive optics inside!

FWIW: As of yesterday morning Slough had two in stock & Harlow had one (incidentally, I established about the Watford stock situation before finding this thread)

That's wrong I'm afraid. Mine was NOT a display model. The box was sealed, and had never been opened. The contents clearly had not been touched or ever taken out of the box. The display model was stiil on display when I left the shop.

Re: Sony HDR-CX6EK Full HD Handycam

Hi R1PLEY,

Many thanks for putting this offer up, managed to pick up a sealed one in
Dunstable.

Bit of a long journey ! Bike from Fulham to St Pancras - Train to Luton - Bike to Dunstable and than back again. Worse part got to cycle home now !

3 Hour round trip but worth it.

Cheers

Indie.

My pleasure.
It's a thing of beauty isn't it?

n.b. I did say you can get brand new ones (not ex-display)!
