After reading about all the problems on the Onkyo 905 owners thread I will not buy one .

Got the same email but only in silver although they might offer it in black if you go in the store hopefully.

Does anybody know if these are brand new boxed as it says, with the latest updates from the factory, or are they brand new boxed as in updated and re-packed by Onkyo UK ?

Was in richer sound today they had 905 in black for £899.95 vip price £999.95 normal price all new boxed from factory the bloke said
Stupid black cost £100 more than silver doh .
you can still buy the 875 for £599.95 in silver

Which problems put you off?
I am planning on getting the 905. I have read through a bit of the owners thread (only come across an issue with heat), but its too long toread thorugh all of it, so it would be much appreciated it if you tell me about any other problems.

just out of interest do you have to do anything extra special to become a Gold VIP? ..in addition to signing up tot he VIP mailling list? What's the difference between a VIP and a Gold VIP? Are both offers open to anyone signed up?
