The description says onw input connector and 5 output connectors.

What type of connectors are these ?

I bet they'll be the IEC "kettle" type connection (male for input and female for output). Can't find any details or pictures of the back panel at all.

I say this because the height of the unit is quite low and to get a 3 pin plug and wire on the back panel as well as all the RJ11, RJ45, Sat connections etc, will be quite a feat!

On second thoughts, there may be room for 3 pin plugs on a slight angle if this picture is anything to go by.

instruction manual shows 3 pin plug sockets.

good price however i got a few a couple of days ago for £9 each delivered

order is still being put together though...

on the dell website they had them at half price at £9. i dont think they are going to honour it tho as it is such a big difference compared to rrp

If you have an order confirmation (rather than acknowledgement), according to their T&C's, that is a binding contract.

3.3 Dell accepts Customer’s offer to purchase under this Agreement & makes a binding
Agreement by issuing an Order Confirmation. Order confirmation is binding except,
in the case of consumers only, where there is a discrepancy between order
confirmation and what consumer ordered and where discrepancy is unacceptable
to the consumer. It is recommended that Customer review the Order Confirmation
& notify Dell within a reasonable period of time of any discrepancies that are
noticed.
3.4 Dell reserves the right to make changes to ordered specifications but will identify
any such changes in the Order Confirmation. Dell guarantees that any such
changed Products will offer at least equivalent functionality & performance. Dell will
not make any significant variations to Products or Services without Customer’s
prior agreement &, except as provided for above, will manufacture & deliver
Product in accordance with the Order Confirmation.

So unless there was a change made in the order confirmation, they will honour the contract.

Dell Business on some nextag say £8.49 free shipping + vat but when you check out its now about £15

Looking at the manual in more detail, I'd say that is the US market with smaller plugs as it shows 8 connectors where the Dell one is 5. Also the Dell one (and other UK based ones) have the RJ11 and RJ45 connections for protection. THis manual shows none of those.

Let's see what happens when its delivered!

I've had both order acknowledgment and order confirmation.

I bet the discrepancy is like with the Belkin cable: they now add shipping (£7.50) to the price instead of free shipping I guess.

I hope normal 3 pin plugs just plug into it; it would make it a lot easier than replacing cables with kettle to figure eight leads.

Thinking about it and the other types of surge suppressors Belkin do for the consumer, there is more chance of it having 3 pin sockets than not.

I wonder how the delay on the Amp power socket works?

EDIT DOH! it'll have a master power on and off button!

Bit worried now as the belkin part no is ap20500ea3m against ap20500uk3m just hoping this doesnt have european sockets on the back. Anyway they just emailed to say delivery on or before 17th and the distance selling regs should give some protection if its not all UK. Business Sales site. worked out at £15.02 each delivered inc vat.

Was reposted on another forum where I picked it up. Only ordered one but only worked out marginally more expensive than a decent surge protector, so I'm not complaining.

Put it on the credit card too, so if there are any problems I'm at least semi protected...

Anyway, cheers for the headsup.

Just had the order confirmed, so looks like they are going to honour it...

Just had my order confirmed as well - i'm pretty sure that companies can still get out of honouring deals even if they have confirmed it? Can anyone confirm either way?

I dont fancy ringing them to confirm it

The money also seems to have gone out of my account too which is a good sign I guess.

check out the Protection values for the PF30,40, 50 all in Euros, and have a Euro part no

PF60 has "Localisation" United Kingdom, and then the Protection values are in Pounds and has a UK part no

I think UK model - would be a bit silly of Dell to sell euro model to UK. Plus it says outputs - 5, the US one has 8.

Anyone think they will honour it? Even though they have sent an confirmation email and the money has come out, i've got a feeling they can still niggle their way out of it...

These sell for £179.99 in Argos, what we will all need to do is stick together if they try to pull out of the deal, Argos once advertised a TV on their website for £9.99 when it was in fact £99.99, enough people complained and they honoured the deal.

The sale of goods act implies that the price advertised is an invitation to enter a contract to proccur the goods, the seller does not have to sell at the price advertised but if they have been negligent as is the case with this one, they may be forced to honour it.

Let's all wait and see, if have acknowledgements and hopefully the order processing dept. will not notice anything out of the ordinary, I don't have a problem getting a bargain at a large corporations's expense, last time I looked Michael Dell was the world's 7th richest man.

I ordered two of these 3 months ago and had to send them back.

They are European spec with 5 x 2-pin sockets in the back, so short of having to replace all of my plugs or use loads of adaptors, they weren't for me.

Also, not sure where the confusion is here. It says on the Dell website that you are buying the European model (AP20500EA3M) which obviously isn't the UK model (AP20500UK3M).

Ok, just checked the French Belkin support site and the manual says its 240 volt - which means we can just lop the plug off the box and put a uk one on instead.

I hope these do come through now, I think it will be pretty easy to get some Euro leads from the continent pretty cheaply and use this - beats paying £169 for it here!
