My Tesco Clubcard should be arriving soon since I've moved and Tesco's is now my local Supermarket |
Hi. I'm a relative newbie myself. Never really liked the idea and hated being asked whether I had one each time at the checkout. Anyway, you get one point per pound spent. Each point is worth a penny so if you buy stuff in store or petrol it's like getting a 1% discount. You can get extra points for special offers and also (I think) cashback. The interesting part is that, instead of redeeming the points in store you can get four times the cash value traded against any of Tesco's clubcard deals (listed on the tesco.com). There's a surprising number of things to buy including RAC breakdown cover, airmiles, weekend breaks, and my favourite Vouchers for Cafe Rouge. So, eg, the 1000+200 point deal with Tesco for the Hd-EP30 equates to a £48 voucher at Cafe Rouge, RAC etc etc (or £12 discount at the checkout/pumps). Tesco have a new joint clubcard/creditcard, actually, that gives extra points and a year's interest free credit. So the current deal means you can get a very nice HD player with 7 discs; £48 in vouchers; and 12 months interest free credit for 180 quid. Not bad.
