I think now might not be the best time to buy a single format player. If LG release their dual format this spring, nobody will pay a lot for a single format player any more.

On reflection, that's not a bad price actually, when you take shipping, insurance, customs, duty, VAT and delivery into account. I've done it the independant route, and little things really add up.

Why waste the money on a single format player now (especially the blurry player...)...wait a while until denon or yamaha etc come up with a 'proper' multiformat player. leave the samsungs for the same people who buy tvs' from asda...

Perhaps because it doesn't have analogue outputs to enable enjoyment of the LPCM tracks?

Exactly, and that's why the value of all the current players are likely to fall even faster very soon.

Best keep a look out for what is happening over at CES (Las Vegas) next week. This is where all the new player announcements are made and displayed.
