LG 50 inch PCD1A Plasma £1279.99

Comet, Currys, Dixons all have this set at this price.

Bought on yesterday, and it's superb.

I was worried that I couldn't count the hours used, black level adjustment, and the grey borders on 4:3 viewing but...

Hold the menu button on the tv along with the one on the remote for 7 seconds and you will enter the service menu that lets you adjust Gamma, Border colour and shows time on.

Plus a whole world of other stuff I know nothing about.

I was thinking of a 42" PX60 but I'm glad I got this (My mate got the PX60 at the same time too).

Can't wait for it to run in properly so I can turn everything up!

Would this screen be a good upgrade over my 14 month old Sony KDFE50A12?

or more of a sideways step?

Re: LG 50 inch PCD1A Plasma £1279.99

I used to have an earlier LG 50" plasma and it - er - wasn't very good.

But I just happened to see this one in a shop very recently, and it really stopped me in my tracks, I was quite taken aback. Not sure how it compares with a Panny PX60, but I was very impressed .
