Anyone want a Costco card?

In the Yamaha YSP1 thread I offered to get an additional Costco card on my account for anyone who needed one - 3 AV forum members have provisionally taken me up on the offer, hunts1uk, creambun, and gsrai...

I can add another 3 cards to my account at a cost of £12+vat each. To allow for p&p that works out at £15 per card per year. If anyone wants a card I'm happy to get one for you, but I'd appreciate the cash and your address details ASAP as I've the renewal form sat in front of me right now.

3 spaces available, first come first served.

Just a quick note to say Costco have processed the cards and sent them to me here.

I'll be getting them all posted today, so you should all take delivery this week.

Question photo?

Hello there, I thought Costo requires members to be present on application so they can take a mug shot for the card?

I believe that the new card holders mentioned here are only secondary members connected to the primary card and so can not add new secondary members.
Then again if someone wanted to join (£20+Vat trade) and add 6x secondary members and divide the cost equally, well you can see where I'm going with this .

I would do it but I live at least 1 - 1.5 hours away so will not visit frequently.

Steve.

Right, it's Costco card renewal time... Well, we've a month, but the renawal arrived in the post this morning.

The cost for renewal of add on cards is £12 plus vat, so £14.10. If you'd like to keep your card, please PM me to arrange payment.

Thanks

Andy

Costco is a chain of wholesale member warehouses, like Makro, see costco.com. Entry isn't open to anyone, you have to be an employee of certain businesses or self employed.

I pay £20 + vat a year for my card, but I can add a further 6 for 12+vat each. I figured I may as well give others who'd like to join, but can't, an opportunity to.

UPDATE

For some reason I can't add a post to the end of this thread, but I can edit this:

Having taken on board information in post 21 above, I have decided I can not afford to take on the potential risk of having to honour secondary cardholders bad cheques. I do trust the AVforums community, but not to *that* extent.

I have refunded Creambun his payment for the new card he wanted. The others of you who have paid for renewal from year 1 can retain your cards for another year at least.

To everybody else - Apologies, I simply can't put myself in a position where I've potential for such huge losses. I hope you'll understand.

Thanks

Andy

You do know that you are liable for any returned cheques of the secondary card holders since you are the primary holder?

"Costco charges £25 for every cheque returned by the bank for insufficient funds.

If any legal action is brought by Costco to collect monies, the member will pay the face amount of the cheque, plus interest thereon at the rate of two percent (2%) per month, plus expenses incurred during collection.

The primary member will be liable for returned cheques written by an additional cardholder
"

That's not the problem, the problem is that he's responsible if anyone on his primary membership writes a dud cheque.

You'd have to have a lot of faith to be handing out cards to total strangers
