Richer Sounds Open Box Sale Sun 3/10

Got a postcard from them today promoting this and offering £10 off a £50 spend (I'm on the mailing list from one of the previous ones). There's a link on their website but I guess they must be in the middle of setting it up as it doesn't work for me yet. Sale runs 10am - 4pm but based on previous ones you need to get there by about 7am to get the good stuff.

I assume you can't reserve items then?
Is it really that bad that you have to be there at 07:00?

No reserving allowed. If it's bad then you can get there later if it's good then get there ealier. Last time the stock varied a lot so it was worthwhile waiting in line at some of the stores. Depends what you want and how cheap it is.

Not very impressed with the lists I could get to download - certainly won't be queing up. Still the £10 voucher they've sent me can be used to buy regular priced stuff from them so I'll check their What HiFi ad to see if there's anythng going thats worthwhile.

Richer sounds belfast site runs from the .ie address.

They have their own open box section up now.

Nothing that grabs me though (as per usual)

Looking at some of the price lists it looks like you can pick up a resonable quality DVD player for £19.99... sounds like a bargain to me.

If you're after a cheap as chips DVD player that is a step above the usual woolie/asda/etc sale brand, these RS' sales are a no brainer really

Yeah looking at the stuff available at my local store it's pretty much 2000/2001 version DVD players which are still great for the price. Other than that there seems to be quite little with a remote otherwise. I don't care about a box or manual but consider a remote nigh on essential.

Went to the Chelsea branch and Mr Julian Richer himself was there chatting to us in the queue. Was 7th in line and wanted a brand new boxed Pioneer VSXC-301 at £60 (or a good condition open box one), all gone by the time I got to the front

Suspect it was a bit of a loss leader to get the punters in (still listed as £160 on the website), seemed keen to sell me any old tat.

apparently people were ringing up stores and prebooking items, seems a bit pointless to me. whats the point in standing there, raining on you, when some monkey's rang them up from his leather arm chair with his totes on has bought the last one!

u couldnt prebook. First come first serve it was.

Not sure about the store u were at though.

Waited an hour and saw the speakers I wanted banged into the back of a ford fiesta and a bmw and drive out of my face!
