re: o2 Pay and Go Bargain Tariff Offer Till 31st January 2010

The unlimited web part is good, it's cheaper than o2's simplicity sim.

Just so I understand the offer finishes soon but the deal continues with "free" web use beyond January?

The way I read it is registration is required by the end of Jan so after that no new people will be able to get on the tariff. People already on it will continue to have it unless they move to a different tariff.

Thinking of getting this for SWMBO.

She has an Orange Sim Only deal at the mo, that gives her (I think) 200 minutes and 200 texts per month (no web).

She could add Orange Web to that for £5 per month (totalling £15), so would there be any advantage to her getting this O2 PAYG for £15 per month?

As I understand it, she would get unlimited texts and Web by putting £15 per month on the O" sim, but how many voice minutes would that £15 give her?

Your right, I was amazed when I heard this offer in cardiff today, was there early and t-mobile where giving a free payg phone to the first 30 people though the door when you purchased £10 airtime, then got a text saying you will get unlimited free texts & internet next month, great!

Only a cheap samsung e1120, free when you bought £10 airtime, it was for the 1st 30 people through the door.

i signed up for the Three deal where you get 150mb and 600 texts when you top up £10 online - on the face of it you get less than o2 and t-mobile, but am i right in thinking with those two, you have to top up every month to get the freebies? The plus point of the Three one for me is that the texts/internet last for 90 days and I've managed to last for 2 months without eating into my credit so far..

Did everyone signing up for the O2 deal manage to get it okay?

I called the tariff hotline to switch from O2 Unlimited to the Text & Web tariff before the 31st January deadline. I got a text on the 30th saying 'You'll move to Text and Web on your next anniversary date or in the next 72 hrs', but I still seem to be on Unlimited, and got another text this morning reading 'Thanks for topping up. You will now receive one month of unlimited free calls and text messages to other O2 numbers from 0202' - the regular Unlimited top-up bonus.

Anyone had the same problem when switching tariffs?

Will I still get the limited 'Unlimited Text' tariff (the Text & Web tariff advertised on their site is now back to the less appealing 'Top up £10 for 300 texts/unlimited web, £15 for 500 texts/web')?

Looks like you will be best to contact customer services. They will be able to tell you if the tariff change failed or not I would have thought.
