Canon Digital IXUS 100 IS Digital Camera - Black 2.5: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo - £132.40 Off

The Canon IXUS 100 IS that I bought for my grandfather arrived this morning. After comparing prices online for a while I found that Amazon.co.uk were selling it for £132 off the original price - was about £50 less than anywhere else a few days ago.

My grandfather is going to be traveling around South Africa for a month so he needed something that took a decent picture, but is compact and sturdy enough to just throw in your pocket when you're done. This seems to fit the bill pretty well, will update next month once he's got back, see what the verdict is.

Hope some of you other guys can get a good bargain with this one!

I nearly bought mine from Amazon (it was £168 last week) but ended up going to John Lewis instead - they're doing a gift package with a (very nice) Canon Ixus branded leather case for £189.99. A cheapo case would have cost a tenner, so the extra tenner and added bonus of instant gratification rather than waiting in for Citylink swayed me.

Great camera too!

Yeah, for a compact camera it feels extremely sturdy. Can't wait to take it out myself and see what can be captured!
