Argos Clearance outlet offering Archos players with 12 month guarantee - states new not refurbished and appear to have around 88 left at time of posting.
At that price couldnt resist.
Will post again when it arrives.
As its "new" - warranty can be registered with proof of purchase on Archos web site.

they were selling the new archos 5 internet tablet on ibood a few days ago for £109

it was posted on the portable media threads.

even though they are only 24 hour promotions they do tend to repeat.

whilst the screen is smaller the archos 5 is an improved model again over the 705. (lots of reviews are calling it an ipod touch killer)

it may be worth canceling your order and waiting for ibood to list the archos 5 again.

Did look at the 5 - missed the iBood promotion. My prime reason is larger screen as have to travel a lot and its just handy to have video music etc with me. Not a massive game player and dont need masses of functionality in terms of e-mail and Internet etc - Itunes - no thanks.
Portable DVD player means loads of discs and works labtop is locked down for security reasons so short of a netbook just to play video and music thought 705 the best option.

Just an update to say item arrived in 24hours. It was boxed new and in sellophane with Argos code still on the box (which on a quick search showed Argos originally had these at £329!).
All looking good. Screen not as shiny as 604 but that should mean in day light use less reflections and able to use in sunlight.

So far dumped some 1000 pics - 1500 tracks and 40 movies on this and still 40gb of space left!
Bargain given I was in Argos last night and they had a portable DVD player 7" screen at £99 and multimedia picture frame at £100. This can do both jobs and more for similar monies.
