Which ereader??

I would like to buy a dedicated ereader but I'm not sure which.

I really wanted the sony prs-505, but its like rocking horse poo now they're pushing the prs-600 - I've not heard good things about the screen on this one, so have prob ruled it out. I've also ruled out the pocket sony as it has no card slot.

This leaves the other less common types, I've seen the bookeen which looks quite good. Does anyone have any experience of it?

What about the others, any recommendations? Any help/views appreciated

Cheers

Re: Which ereader??

I have been looking into ebook readers for the last two months, I started by looking at the Sony readers in Waterstones, which are quite good, but then discovered many other units, I almost ordered the bebook mini, but have decided to purchase the pocketbook 360, the US site is currently the distributor for UK and delivery is quick and with the current exchange rate the cost is good, there is a german distributor who is coming on-line soon and the company say there will be UK outlets next year. If you want to fing out more check out MobileRead Forums. but I liked the company feed back on the site and continued development of the firmware.

Re: Which ereader??

I've got the PRS-505 & I feel it's superb.....
this linky implies Amazon has some AND perhaps the market-place items are still available? Hope that helps!

Re: Which ereader??

wow that link was for a Sony 505 at £269 !! that crazy money - bought mine for £189 a few months ago.

I love it but not at that price. I would hunt around for one cheaper.

Been and had a look at a 600 today, and i'm pretty damn impressed. The screen seemed fine to me, touch is still a gimmick, but it had buttons too.

With there at 219 in smiths i can't justify paying more for an older model, so think i'll be getting one of these very soon.

I would never buy a Bookeen reader product again.

They have been promising existing customers a firmware upgrade for months now and have never provided it. We still don't know when we will get it.....

Their support is very poor as well.
