Using your laptop as e-reader

I use my laptop as my e-reader.

The applications I use is Microsoft Reader, pdf files. firefox documents and of course good old Word.

Most of the e-reader software can be used on your laptop, so would I be better off with an e-reader or is my laptop adequate?

I have a library of over 2,000 books of all types, from fiction to non-fiction, drama to philosophy.

Re: Using your laptop as e-reader

Laptop is fine to use as an e-reader.

Only reason to get an e-reader is if you need more portability or if you're getting eye strain (e-readers have no backlight so are easy on the eyes for long periods of reading).

Re: Using your laptop as e-reader

Would never use even my netbook for reading. Need to be comfy and holding in one hand either in bed, in lounge or in garden (on holiday) etc.

iPhone/Touch is a good choice if you don't want a dedicated ebook reader.
