Sony DVP-S715 and DVD-R

I have used a variety of DVD-R and now all my Ritek discs are having problems playing, - OK in my 104 PC drive.

TDK are similar, however I have had some less purple discs which seem to be better.

Any make recommended please?

If your having problems with a variety of makes of DVD-R then it might be your authoring process that is at fault and not the media. What authoring and burning programmes are you using?

I use Panasonic branded DVD-R burnt on my PC. My old S715 seems to play everything I throw at it, far better than my much newer Tosh SD510.

Ulead DVD Movie Factory

Tried a 9month old Maxell - fine!!!

They go to menus but tend to stick on playback

Riteks are very purple!

Are you burning with Moviefactory? You might be better outputting as a Title Set onto your HDD and burning using a DVD-Video wizard in a designated burning programme such as Nero (although some people have problems with Nero).

The DVDR Help site user reports show you machine should play them no problem:
