Hard drive DVD recorder to match Sky+

I have an elderly relative who lives in a block of flats with insufficient demand for Sky. I want to set him up with a new TV and hard drive recorder that will give at least the same features as Sky+ and be as easy to use. He will at least have all the freeview channels to choose from!

Recommendations would be appreciated.

I know someone who has the Topfield and raves about it. He loves the way you can customise it but I would guess thats not a feature likely to be made us of by your relative.

I have since come across the Humax PVR range which a lot of people rave about that does a Sky+ job on freeview.

Yes the Humax range are also supposed to be good. The Humax and the other two I mentioned previously are probably the top three.

Remember if you do go with svp then if you go via quidco you get 3% cashback.

I had to move quite quickly on this as my relative comes out of hospital tomorrow and I wanted him to have something to enjoy on his reurn. Got the Humax 9200. I have set it up with a new TV and it works well!
