Pioneer DVRLX60/70 or 940 or something else?
I currently have Denon AVR 3805, Pioneer PDP-434HDE, Pioneer 668AV, Panasonic DMR E95 DVR, Sky+, M&K Speakers.
My Panasonic DMRE95H has stopped recording to DVD and takes ages to start up so I'm replacing it. Does anyone have any advice on the Pioneer DVLX60 or 70 Vs the 940 or any other models I should be considering. Are any of them good for CD playback? if so I could get rid of my 668 DVD as well. All advice welcome. Also how can I pull off the info off of the Panasonic if it won't record to DVD?

Have you considered repairing the 95?
This sounds like the classic symptom cause by the famous failing voltage regulator... which was first identified in other models ... but the e95 uses the same device.
See this thread ... and Post number 382 particularly:

Thank you so much for the info - It looks complicated but I've ordered the part and will try to find someone locally who can fit it hopefully!! Many thanks again.

Re: Pioneer DVRLX60/70 or 940 or something else?
Hi Gavtech
Bit of a nightmare - finally found a shop that would do it. But they wanted me to remove the PSU - easy I thought - I followed the instructions and pictures for removal, only to find the DMR E95's PSU board has an extra connection of loads of little legs branching off to another board?!?! And I have no idea how to disconnect it. I can't find pictures or reference to this on the forums - can you help me any further? thank you in advance!!

If this "extra connection" is mounted front LHS of the psu board (looking from the front)...this is a bridge-type connector...you'll see a small lip to the RHS of the connector...just get a flat-blade screwdriver and lever it up sharply...to refit just press it down.
It goes without saying...make sure the machine is unplugged before working on it.

Anyone thinking of getting a Pioneer DVR LX60 ox LX70, made sure that you get one with the D suffix. I've just got the LX60 without it, and it only has an analogue tuner: I thought the price too good to be true! How was i to know that D stood for digital.
So be careful

If you asked the salesman for a digital recorder then he has supplied you with a machine 'not fit for the purpose'
He is legally required to refund or replace it !
Take it back and declare loudly that you specifically wanted a digital recorder !
In this world the meek inherit nothing

I got it on the net, I did not realise that there were two versions of this machine. I assumed that they were all digital. There is no problem as I already have an RMA number to return it to the seller. An analogue tuner is a complete waste of time!
