Advice Please

Hi all,

please be patient in reading this from a newbie!

have bought a Panny eb27 dvd recorder after reading reviews and was hoping someone can assist me. The recorder has an optical out to my amp which has an optical in in socket as well as coaxial. Bought the recorder from digital direct for £123 compared to £180 at local shop Curry's. Went into Curry's for a look at the recorder and on examining the rear of the machine found that the optical out slot covered by plastic fitment:

Q1 does this fitment peel off so I can insert the cable ?

Q2 please advise on the cable required, will a tos link optical cable suffice ?

Thanks for reading

Welcome to the forum.

Q1 - The socket is usually protected with a small plastic plug- It simply pulls out - yes.

Q2 - Yes - Standard Toslink cable is the one to use.

Good luck.

Thanks Gavtech, apologies to all but have recognised that there is a forum especially for cables/ interconnects.

No problem- This is still a DVDR issue.

Good luck with your purchase.

Standard Toslink will be the size... Just avoid mini-toslink.

See this for more info:
