HXD-970 Sky Picture not Satisfactory

I have connected up my 970 to Sky + box using a good quality Scart lead. I have then connected it to my Onkyo 605 via HMDI.

The problem I have is on the Sky picture. The lettering on the Sky menu (e.g. "All Channels," etc.) has what can only be described as "speckles" around them which can be seen clearly on the yellow background of the highlighter bar.

I've tried all sorts of settings to eliminate this, with no luck thus far.

Anyone have an ideas?

did you use the rgb scart on the sky box ?

the one marked tv ? and not the one marked vcr

I was sure I tried this, but I gave it another go and it has improved things. I had some harsh horizontal lines appearing on moving images, but turning "Picture Adjustment" to DTV seems to have lessened this.

Downside is I've lost the automatic switchover/aspect ratio adjustment to Sky on my TV when the box is turned on and I'm not watching through the DVDR

Maybe a Scart splitter is in order?

I suppose you could use a scart router to select the input required

you cannot blame the sony for the lack of 2 rgb outputs on the sky box

the vcr scart to your tv is composite , so nowhere near as good as before

your sky box tv out scart is rgb , but you need 2 of them to satisfy your needs , and the skybox only has one which is the tv one , the other one is vcr and that is composite out not rgb

so catch 22 really
