Panasonic DMR-EX77 SD CARD VIDEO

I have had an ex77 for a few months now and am very happy with it but one thing i can't figure out how to do is transfer video form an SD card onto the HDD.

The manual say's you can do it but for the life of me i can't figure it out. My idea was to transcode some DivX to mpeg2 (*.MOV) and away you go! Anyway thats what i thought can anybody help?

It cannot be done.

The EX77 only supports MPEG2 , one way from card to machine. and only video from Panasonic SD recorders - NOTHING else.

That blows my cunning plan. I will just have to keep on using the latop.

I haven't really gone to depth into researching Blueray/HD-DVD players because i don't intend on buying one till after christmas do any of the current models support DivX? I know the pro's/cons of the HD-formats but i'm not really interested until something happens but it would be nice to know.
