DVD Output Via Aerial lead

Hi
Looking to buy a new dvd recorder now my Philips has packed up. BLOCKED.

I could not on the philips play a dvd and watch it through the piped aerial sockets i have around the home but i could do this with the video. I understand this is the norm because of the type of dvd. But if i replace the dvd is there one that will play through the aerial socket and to the other rooms in the house.

Same format as the philips and can anyone recommend a machine.

Thanks in advance.

Re: DVD Output Via Aerial lead

What you are looking for is a DVDR with an "RF Modulator"...that's what outputs the signals via RF.
Very few of the major manufacturers include them in their latest models.
Some of the cheaper end of market machines have them...maybe someone will come along with a make/model.

Yes, you can buy external ones from Maplin for about £30 something else that requires power though.

Hope that helps.

Not that it helps, but a PS2 connected with the RF adapter will play DVD's through RF.

Yes, or feed the output of the DVDR to a VCR if you have one lying around and use the RF mod in that.

Re: DVD Output Via Aerial lead

Ok thanks all.

What recorder do you recommend. It seems the latest models do either format +&-

Thinking of the SONY RDRGX120 at £100
