Panasonic DMR-EX77 / EX77EB - differences?

Amazon list both the EX77 and EX77EB at different prices whilst the Panasonic web site only shows the EX77EB although it has manuals for both models which I have downloaded.

It is difficult to compare two 100 page manuals but it would appear that the EB only has a digital tuner whereas the EX77 appears to be able to receive analogue as well digital signals. This would be quite useful to me until I can get an aerial upgrade sorted out unless there is any downside to this which I am not aware of.

Does anyone know the difference between these two models? In particular can anyone confirm the point about the tuner?

Both the models on the Amazon site are EB models... for reasons given in the other thread.

The price difference is because of the colour only, black in one case and silver in the other.

The European model you are referring to has proved very difficult to get although some have succeeded... usually by buying it when there.

There are implications... One of which is that the EPG is always 1 hour wrong.... and the analogue tuner may not work at all in the UK. That would need checking.
