Changing hard drive on Panasonic EH67

1. Would it be possible to upgrade the 250GB hdd on Panasonic EH67 to a larger drive (320,400,500GB) or does the electronic circuitry or firmware on the recorder limit it to 250GB?

2. What filesystem do hdd use on Panasonic recorders? Are they standard Win systems like FAT32 or NTFS or do they use a Panasonic-specific filesystem?

Thanx

Forget it.

Panasonic have made upgrade virtually impossible. Only the specified original size will ever be seen irrespective of disc capacity.

Windows will not recognise the filesystem ... and even if you can get past that , they use a proprietary encoding format.

Re: Changing hard drive on Panasonic EH67

well on my eh50 with 80gb i tried to swap the hdd for a 500gb one,it worked fine but was still showing 80gb after i formatted it so its either firmware locked or electronically which is a bit sucky tbh but was worth a try i guess

Re: Changing hard drive on Panasonic EH67

Out of interest, what make was the hard disk in the '67? The fact that companies go out of their way to disguise the brand and model is why I skipped it this time around.

Had I known it was Western Digital, the brand I know to be the most reliable in the past ten years in my PCs, I'd have found the extra £50 for the 'EZ77. But if it's ultra-cheap Excelstor, then I don't need a timebomb in with my recorder thanks very much.
