Lite-ON LVX550 Problem Reading Discs.

For some reason my Lite-on, which is now over 2yrs old, is refusing to read some disks, that have been read previously, with no problems. Also if I have 10 of the same DVDRW's perhaps 3 will read & write, but the others won't.
I've run DVD cleaners through it, & upgraded Firmware. Is it time for a new one?
