Re: Panasonic DMREZ45V DVD-R/VCR - bugs?

Are you still having problems? - I'm thinking after all the problems you have experienced and analysed that if you resolved all then maybe its a good recommendation.

Also, maybe a daft question but I've no experience of DVD writers - if you want to copy a DVD thats not copyright protected in any way - can you do it - does original get played & recorded onto the internal memory before you then record to 2nd DVD?

Does it work the same way if you want to copy a VHS tape onto DVD or do you do that directly?

THanks

Re: Panasonic DMREZ45V DVD-R/VCR - bugs?

Does anyone else have a problem with whining/whistlening from the VCR section of this player? I am now on my third machine and although this one is better than the previous two it still has a noise which is just audible at about 10 feet away.

Re: Panasonic DMREZ45V DVD-R/VCR - bugs?

The noise is from the capstan drives, dvd drive or the fan. Mine gets used daily and the noise doesn't bother me. This is the only one of my six different Panasonic dvd recorder models which has a noise. This is the only combi vcr/dvd rec though and its far too useful to get rid of because of a bit of noise. It's in daily use. I have over 1200 VHS tapes to transfer. Not everything will be transferred but I need some space and its a hard choice because much of the contents will never be shown on TV again.

Checked this slight noise last night - it's caused by the cooling fan.
