DVDr 250gb Recorder Only 199Inc VAT but are they any good?

I did not join this forum to sell stuff, more to learn from you guys and give feedback to threads regarding products we sell. I have just had a batch of 400 Benq 350 HDD DVD Recorders arrive.

Is this a good price, what do you think of the spec and most importantly are they any good?. Also if there is anything missing from the spec - what is it?

Thanks and all the best

Somehow I think your lying.

Sounds like your using the forums for free advertising. Your contradicting yourself.

Not at all, we have done a bit of AV stuff for a while but as the crossover between the PC (our main business) and AV moves closer I thought I would get more involved. Sure we want to sell but that is not why I am on here. Some of the users had posted comments on other threads about products we are selling and I wanted to get some feedback first hand. My other reason for joining was to improve my knowledge of AV and I think you would find it hard to disagree that there is a wealth of knowledge on this forum.

Maybe so but Novatech are a UK based company...I've used them many times for PC components and gadgets and have always found their prices and service first class.

I believe it is a good company but it does seem like free advertising.

Has anybody bought this player yet? I can't find any reviews for it on the net.

Looks good, but I'd prefer to know how user friendly the OS is before I buy one.

Regards, Mylo

It looks like a good deal but no Freeview tuner is a bit of a worry.

Does it support Progressive Scan and surely it means DVD+R and DVD+RW when it says:

DVD+R Only

Don't suppose you would like to direct me towards one would you ??

I've not seen anything for the same price with the same capacity.

kpkpkp .... the quote "I have just had a batch of 400 Benq 350 HDD DVD Recorders arrive." rather does reveal you!! - give 'em back to del boy!!

@mylo:
looking at the back of the 'what video' review list, there are actually DVDRs starting at about £120... es-15 for £150, and these are 'list prices' so you should find them about for much less.... depends how desperate you are...

have you seen this thread??

but seriously, how long are you planning to use this?? a very cheap, 'rebranded' one may seem wonderful at the time, but a few months later, when you find what corners have been cut, and other strange interface issues, you may find that the money wasted could have gone to help buy a better system...

It depends whether you want save 'worry lines & gray hairs' or get a good system!!
