Due to be released in the UK in June, Avland seems the only shop showing prices at £399 (160GB) and £439 (250GB). Prices should drop a bit once stocks arrive so perhaps worth waiting a couple of weeks.
Here's the link to the international Panasonic website with full details:

...and the manual:

It has everything I can think of: Freeview, HDMI outpout, HDD, records all DVD formats incl. dual layer.... it even has an SD Card slot which is great if you have an SD digital camera. The only slight let-down is the looks, I prefer the style of a Sony or Samsung.
Hopefully we get a magazine review by the end of the month, the world cup is coming soon so not much time to spare!
The only other product with the same features (except SD card) is the Sony RDR-HXD910, which Sony support confirmed to me has been discontinued. They said new products would be launched this year, but couldn't give an indication on timing.

The Sony doesnt have an analogue tuner and doesnt record to as many disc formats as the Panasonic. It also has some issues with widescreen format and I've heard the timer is a bit unfriendly. I'm very tempted by the EX85, especialy for the £439 that avland is quoting. I mailed AVLand who said they were hoping to have them in during May.
Note however that last months HCC listed the EX75 as retailing for £350. If the 75 is £400 then I'll get the 85 for £439, but if the 75 ends up more like £350 I'll probably take the cash over the extra disc space.
One thing that has been mentioned about these is that the manual is very DVD-RAM heavy, suggesting that functionality on other formats is limited. They also don't record the widescreen flag to DVD when recording, in common with several other players. Not a problem though provided you dont need to play the discs on older 4:3 sets.
Sadly I think it'll be a few months before you see a magazine review. Best bet is probably to wait for someone to post about it on here.
You might want to take a look at the new Philips 7250 as well. Looks very well specced and the styling is very nice. Doesnt have HDMI out though, and there are a couple of issues with editing and dubbing. Has a live TV buffer though which neither the Sony nor Panasonic sport. Check out this thread.
Hold the phone.....does the Philips DVDR7250H.....
