Thumbs up dvds81e

I just bought the DVDS81E as my Xmas present!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful!!!
Gorgeous!!!
I LOVE IT!!!

Nice laid out Menu, Easy to Use, Excellent Progressive Component output to my 42PD7200. Analog aerial input are improved too!!!

It can also read unfinished RAM discs from my Hitachi DZMV580 too!!!

I could be a Hitachi lover, but it is a wonder-machine. Fast respose so I guess very good cpu inside too!! Impressive!!

Go Get Yours Now

It's about time someone finally got one.

Can it read mp3's larger than 8 letters in length?

i.e. ozzy osbourne - sympathy for the devil

I know it's a rolling stone's song but ozzy's cover ain't bad.

Since it is similar to the lg models, I wonder if it would be possible to replace the harddisk with a larger drive?

The largest MP3 I had on this particular CD with MP3s I tried had 36 characters and was read ok....another one was longer and the dvds81e just put 3 dots at the end of the 40-character line....

Can't tell you about the HDD

Cheers Happy Xmas

camorra
so many questions
does it have a noisy fan?
is set up easy?
what's the picture quality like?
how's the build quality?
i know but you seem to be the only one on the planet with one of these macines (or the only one owning up to it ).

Make that 2!!

Got mine yesterday looks good so far. Mainly went for the hitachi as
it has a card reader and can play MP3's of HDD.

Just in the process of copying mp3's and jpg from my SD cards from my camera and mobile phone.

Really simple and easy to do and no problem with long file names

Happy New Year

Only problem is the lack of hdmi which has been advertised with this machine.

dv-ds81e/ds81euk no hdmi

dv-ds161e has hdmi
dv-ds161euk no hdmi

dv-ds251e has hdmi
dv-ds251euk not available

so only european hitachi's get the hdmi and the 250gb, I wonder why that is ?

More profit.

HDMI would be good but I havent any need for it now but would prefer
it to have freeview at least.

But just when i was getting excited it let me down I was hoping once
i had copied my jpegs to HDD I could copy them to disc But looks like
you can oly copy them back to Memory card

Cant understand why they dont allow you to do this? unless Im missing
something

Not many dvd/hdd recorders have freeview.

The 2006 models will.

I wanted the hitachi dv-ds251e but you can't get them in this country even though when they first came out all the adverts said all models would be available though out europe.

hdmi was also advertised, I saw the dv-ds161euk in currys but no hdmi.

I wonder why hdmi isn't out in the uk but only europe?
