£750 Philips DVD Recorder

As far as I knew the Philips retails at £1300 and the Panasonic at £1000.

Imagine my surprise to see the Philips priced at only £750 at my local Cash Converter store (pawn/second-hand store).

I am doubting the unit was bought in second hand as the vendor would have only received about half that price.

As well as second hand gear, the shop buys in graded products from manufacturers/wholesalers. I wonder then, if Philips have had a problem with these.

If I had the money, I'd have probably bought it.

Anyone got any thoughts?
