Pioneer 433H and Liteon 5005 compatability

I have a lite-on 5005 all write dvd recorder in one room and a pioneer dvr-433h in another. If I copy a program onto the lite-on using imation dvd-rw I cannot get it to play on the pioneer in the other room no matter if I finalise, initalise or whatever on either player. How can I make these two palyers compatible.
