Recording from DVD to VCR

I have 2 DVD players connected via Scart connections then are feed into my Sony Widescreen TV into the RGB Input. This is fine for watching either DVD's in my Lounge.

Ideally I need the DVD players connected via my VCR not only to record from DVD to VCR but as the VCR co-ax is pumped into other various rooms - I would like to watch DVD's in the Kitchen.

The above works for the sky box - I can watch sky in the kitchen via the co-ax. I need the same set up so I can watch DVD in the kitchen as well.

Any help would be greateful received

Update 18th August<br />Sky and the Video is watchable from the Kitchen via co-ax. The set up is as follows...<br />TV Aerial is fed into DigiBox - then co-ax is looped through the Video...Then the co-ax is connected to a four way booster (available from argos etc). Co-ax is fed from the booster into a) the Lounge b) kitchen c) etc etc.<br /> <br />A scart also connects directly from the VCR to TV for recording.

A another scart is connected from the SKY DigiBox to the VCR.

The additional TVs can be then tuned for the Video in the Lounge --&gt; this gives you the option of watching VCR in the Kitchen OR Sky if make the VCR in the Lounge take its input (via scart) for the Sky Digibox.

Unless your dvd players are modified and have Macrovision disabled you wont be able to record from them.

How is the kitchen tv connected to pick up Sky? Is it connected via the coax cable directly to the sky box?

I have a similar problem, co-ax to several rooms from VCR to watch films in many rooms but when the DVD player is plugged into the VCR, Macrovision ensures that the signal output via the co-ax is not watchable. I have seen a number of comments suggesting that a video stabiliser (possibly from Lektropaks) would remove the Macrovsion encoding, making the above scenario work but have not tried it yet.

If you or anyone else has tried this then let us know.

Dave-Ive got a similar set up at home(To allow the Kids to watch their Dvds without taking over the front room).You must disable the Macrovision first , then connect your dvd to your video via rca aux3 if you've got them failing that you'll have to give up one of the scart connections (I'd suggest the vcr-tv one)Then put the video on Aux (whatever) and robert is your parents brother.

How do I Disable the Macro Vision

I Have a Sony DVP-S715 (Region 2)

and a Panasonic A350 (Region 1)

To disable macrovision you will either have to send your player to somewhere like techtronics to get it chipped with one of there macrovision remover chips or buy a scart remover cable i suggest the latter!.

You can get one from:<br /><a href="http://www.sonel.com" target="_blank">www.sonel.com</a> (£25) basically you then use this scart to record from you dvd to vcr as simple as that!

I'm in the same boat as everyone else here, wanting to pump the dvd pic around the house like I can already with vcr/sky.

It occured to me it may be simpler and more economical to invest in a dedicated rf modulator from somewhere like Maplin electronics.

I note there are 3 models available £29.99 - £34.99

The Scart cable arrived today and appears to work

*****AN UPDATE AS PROMISED**

3 Points to Note when using this cable:-

1 - The sounds volumes are quite low - Its ok if you have separate pro-logic to boost up the sound

2 - Some DVD's you can hear some hiss (not much but it's there)

3 - On Region 1 DVD Players - I can not get any Colour - Black and white picture only!
