| Advice needed: will these whizzy new features help me out?
Hi there. I've recently become a little disatisfied with the picture quality of my set-up and am hoping that upgrading my dvd player will sort out a few of my issues. Here's the thing, I currently have a Tosh 2109 dvd player feeding an RGB signal to a JVC AV32WFT1. As some of you may know, it is impossible to alter this tv's contrast settings when using RGB and, at the moment, things are a little dark for my liking. I'm sure there is plenty of detail I'm missing in darker scenes. Question is, if I were to purchase a new player (Panny S75, Pioneer 565, Sony 930, etc) would their picture tweaks allow me to change contrast etc of the picture at source, so to speak? What do features such as gamma correction do exactly?
Any thoughts greatly appreciated!
Duncan
