denon 2800 dvd player and PAL PS

I would like to know if the PAL PS firm ware hack actually works, as I am thinking of buying a new tv, possibly the panasonic tx32pd30. I already updated my firmware for this but cannot check yet because of old tv. Otherwise I might consider upgrading to the 2900 player.

thx

I'd suggest you don't 'upgrade' it until Denon release some official firmware, which is looking like a thousand years away...

I've yet to hear of anyone who reckons they've got a fully working pal prog 2800MKII without out any of the problems such as lipsynch, pic breakup, etc...

I'd say your better off going with a 3800 or 2900

Didn't realise the lipsynch problem was a pal progressive feature. I had noticed it though.

I don't think its meant to be a feature of the pal prog, but it does seem to occur with some of the firmware upgrades, particulary the pal prog one.
