Denon 2900 help

Hi all,

does anyone know whether it is legal for someone to 'lend' me the firmware software for the 2900 player that provides MR and Pal Progressive?
Also, has anyone got it on disc?

Regards,

Hi Matt

I have the mutil-region hack on CD provided by my dealer. Best thing to do is to call the place you got it from and they will send you the CD with full instructions

Most places I've spoken to locally, including the dealer, are asking for the unit to be dropped in and reflashed with a charge of £30-50 which seems an awful lot of money and hassle for what I hear is a 4Mb file!!

Hence I am doing my homework first!!

Thanks anyway.

2900 firmware

Take care. There is allegedly a problem with the multiregion firmware as it stands. It turns off the progressive scan. Not a problem if you are running through a CRT, but if you have projection or plasma then bye bye picture. Most dealers should know about this but only some of them being 'proactive' in telling customers ; they just want to ship the players. Denon have not supplied a fix yet.....

This has already been addressed here and can easily be worked around.
