Need HELP selecting correct Mpeg4 / Avi Player

I am looking for a Player that will play avi and mpeg4 files of discs ( my movies and tv shows just transfered in avi format)
my current player Pioneer 575a has no problem playing these but I wold like a couple more players for the kids rooms.
I have done a search but there seems to be some confusion as to what format of divx each player can handle so if you guys can help that would be great.
very important under the £50 mark per player could stretch a little more if needed.

Toshiba SD-280 - Digital Direct

i dont know about the formats it is ok with,i suspect it will play most if not all DivX as its certified, and will probably play most xvid but dont take my word for it as i have never used one, and am thinking of buying this one my self.

maybe some one else could shed some light on this player
