dvd player on lcd scart or component

hi all

wonder if you can help please i have a panasonic dvd player that does divx and such but not upscaling it quite old but it gave a great picture on my crt in bedroom

now i have just picked up a 22inch lcd for the bedroom connected by rgb and picture is ok but not brill

my question is the dvd player has component out sockets and the tv component in

Re: dvd player on lcd scart or component

Although RGB from the SCART is quite good - a component connection should offer slightly better picture quality.

Don't expect it to be crystal clear, as its not quite the same as high definition - but it should be noticable.

Re: dvd player on lcd scart or component

Yep that's right. You'll have three cables for video and two for audio.

Essentially the cables are all the same, its just that when you buy 'component' cables they are colour coded (Red/Blue/Green) so you know you have them connected properly.

If you have 3 spare phono cables you can try hooking the TV & DVD player up, but just make sure you have the correct colours connected to each other before switching anything on.

Do you really expect to get decent upscaling for 28 quid????
I'd try the component cables with the older player before buying a cheapie throwaway unit...
