Question- TV not HDMI, have a HDMI to comp box..

..and want to get an upscaling dvd player! The tosh 370 looks good

My TV - Hitachi 32pd5200
HDMI to component converter box (do I need special cables?)

I originally bought the converter for a Humax HD reciever- could not get the thing to work.. the TV pic was orange and green or purple and yellow..endless fiddling with wires/settings etc

I am willing to try again using a cheap upscaling DVD player as it will still work in normal mode. The TV i hear will only accept 1080i @60 what does this mean?

Will this box work with a DVD player/my crap TV?

Re: Question- TV not HDMI, have a HDMI to comp box..

The Tosh has component video out with PAL progressive (576p) which would the best to use. Going through a converter will not improve things in my opinion.

Re: Question- TV not HDMI, have a HDMI to comp box..

Thanks mate

shame- i thought the tosh would be perfect as it does 1080i, same as tv and finally get some use out of an obsolete box i paid 150 quid for

Its amazing how hard it is to buy a half decent dvd player which can upscale through component. Are Aldi still selling that Tevion? The only one I can find is sold by Morgan comp. (Reylsis or something) which is not that great apparently
