| Looking for a new DVD player - Canada
Hi all,
I've recently purchased a Pioneer Elite 50 inch plasma (no speakers), and a Denon AVR-887 receiver. I also have a high def cable box. Currently the setup runs everything into the Denon, and the Denon runs an HDMI cable to the Pioneer. My current DVD player (5 year old Toshiba) runs an optical out for sound and component for picture to the Denon. So far I've been quite tickled with the high def TV images from the cable box, and sound from every source so far is excellent. But the DVD images are lacking.
So I'm looking to upgrade the DVD player. I don't need multi disk. I don't need multi region. I don't need (oh but I want) BluRay or HD-DVD. Let's say I have a budget of under $200 CAD. What's the recommendation(s)?
And, do I keep the same type of setup, or should I change it up? Video directly to the Pioneer, say. Or maybe HDMI from the DVD to the Denon. I'll listen to everbody's opinion.
Don't be shy. I know you're out there.
cheers,
Matt.
