HDMi Aspect Ratio Setting?

On my Pioneer 868 I intend to output 576i via HDMI into a video processor. Which aspect ratio setting should I select in the HDMI settings menu, and why? As the PAL 720x576i format is 4:3 and I don't want the DVD player to do any processing I assume I should select that but I am not sure.

Doesn't this depend on the source? Most DVDs are 16:9 encoded, mainly music and children DVDs are 4:3
