Philips DVP5960, Samsung DVDHD950, Samsung DVDHD860

Hi,

I am thinking of buying one of the following hdmi divx dvd players:

Philips DVP5960
Samsung DVDHD950
Samsung DVDHD860

Which one do you think would be the best having in mind the following requirenments:

- Video quality from divx/xvid
- xvid compatibility
- best sound quality for listening to audio cds
- quiet drive
- least problems

I know that Samsungs are good in audio but I think those models have irritating display (too bright) which would probably be annoying
Philips has usb host socket which could be very handy.
Having in mind that Samsung DVDHD860 has hdmi cable all of the devices cost virtually the same.

Many thanks,
Jimmi

Re: Philips DVP5960, Samsung DVDHD950, Samsung DVDHD860

Hi,

All of them state that they play dvix. Does it mean that will play xvid as well?

Cheers,
jimmi
