Urgent help required with Aldi Upscaling Player

Ok, have just got back from Aldi with my nice new Tevion DVD player. Plugged it in at first with a RGB Scart cable. Changed the settings to HD output, so far so good. Then, changed the HD output to 720p, screen went blank. OK, i thought, time to plug the HDMI plug in to my Toshiba 42WLT66......no picture !!!!

Now I need to get it back to standard rgb output again without the 720p but I have no display so am going to have to it blind.

Could someone tell, from switching the player on, what buttons I need to press?

You know, something like......Setup, down, down, right, down, ok, left, ok.....you get the picture.

Any help on this would be great.

Or is there anyway of resetting the whole thing back to factory default?

Cheers.

Re: Urgent help required with Aldi Upscaling Player

Right, managed to fumble my way through and get it back to RGB, but still cannot get it to output at 720p, just a blank screen.

Any ideas?

Maybe does the HDMI connection need to already be present when you flip it on

Re: Urgent help required with Aldi Upscaling Player

Well, I tried all of the various methods on that thread and nothing worked......untill I accidently touched the hdmi lead out of the back of the player and the picture came on. Turns out either the lead is dodgy or the socket/plug had a poor connection. Bit of a fiddle and it's working now, although the slightest touch and the picture goes off. As long as it not touched, it's fine.
Could easily have been one of those intermitent problems that are a nightmare to sort.

Re: Urgent help required with Aldi Upscaling Player

These scarts and HDMI leads and connectors are a retrograde step from the good old phono connections.
Far too delicate and too small a contact area.
Technology is not all advance, but sometimes compromise, because the back panels would have to be enormous to accomodate all the necessary leads to match the feeds. Two steps forward, one step back.
