Recommended digi-coax cable for Toshiba SD-360?

Hello all,

DVD player broke and made a bit of a rash decision to buy the Toshiba SD-360 DVD player at the weekend in a rush; only to get it home and realise that it doesn't have an optical audio out, just a digital coax audio out.

So, is there basically any difference between these two types of connection? And if not, any recommendation on which cable or what to look out for?

Many thanks in advance

Assuming you have an amplifier with a coax input, you should have no problems.
An coax lead lead can be purchased quite cheaply. In fact an ordinary phono lead works.
Optical is not prone to electrical interference, but the sound quality difference is negligible, some saying coax is superior.

This is a whole other debate.
It should'nt sound any different at all as it's a digital connection and is just 1's and 0's but some people swear blind that a better cable makes a difference.
Any bog standard coax should be fine.

QED do one for approx £20. does the job. More importantly should be easy to get hold of. Maplins and B&Q stocked the Thor range of cables and they are good value.

I would stick with a Profigold co-ax cable like thishttp://www.audiovisualonline.co.uk/d...e/display.html

I prefer co-ax, purely because I've never had a co-ax connection fail on my amp, yet I have with optical. I think that's an overheating issue.
