Connecting Oppo to my Denon

Hi there is it possible to connect an Oppo Digital OPDV971H player to my DenonDHT500SD so that I can get the upscaling benefits of the Opps but my sound through the Denon, essentially just use my Denon as an amp ??

It will all be connected to my Sony V402000U LCD Screen

Cheers

Yep - just run a digital audio cable from Oppo into Denon. You'll then need to select whichever input you plug the DVD into. IIRC there's one optical (for Sky+) and one electrical digitial.

Cheers guys! thats what I wanted to hear, while on the subject , do you think I would improve my picture quality on DVD's enought to justify the $199.00 as at the moment my Denon only upscales to 576p ???

Meant to ask as well , is the dvi-hdmi cable that is included up to scratch or would it be wise to purchase a seperate one ?

Up to scratch. You will only need to get a new cable if you need to use a longer run.
