Setting up problem (player or amp)?

I have yet to get hold of all the cabling I require for my final set-up, but am just doing a trial run with some cheap scarts, etc that I have lying around.

With my Pioneer DVD player (see model nr in sig) connected to my Pio receiver by scart I am not getting all channels (ie no centre channel). Is this to do with the player and its output, or my reciever?

I will be using a digital coaxial when I get one, but wondered if I am doing something wrong here?

Any assistance appreciated.

i think scart only transmits left and right channels

Like I said, only a temporary 'trial' set-up as I'm too impatient to wait until I have all my proper cables!

Well, I picked up half decent digital coaxial cable today and hooked it up... problem solved. Wahey! It sounds awesome and I just know I'm really going to wind the neighbours up.

I am really going to enjoy my first home cinema set-up.
