Toshiba SD-120EB Multi-Region Problem

Hello folks.

I've had my Toshiba SD-120ED DVD player for almost 4 years now and I've never had a problem. I've always played Region 2 DVD's on it as I've never bought any DVD's from anywhere else so the multi-region nature of it never meant much to me but I wanted it to be capable of it should I ever come across any foreign DVD's.

Yesterday, I received my copy of T2: Judgment Day Extreme Edition R1 and I was about to watch it today but have not been able to. I get a disc error message on the player and "Disc play back unauthorised" comes up on my TV. I have no idea why though? The box for the DVD player is labled multi-region (though I don't know if Toshiba put that sticker there) and amazon, where I got it from, advertsied it as being multi-region. If it was capable though, surely it should play this DVD? My version of T2 is real and came factory sealed from movietyme.
