How do I connect a xbox 360 to my 989 ?

This is probably a stupid question but,

I want to connect a xbox 360 to pass through a Pioneer 989 which is connected via HDMI cable to Infocus IN76 projector.

I have racked my brains & can't figure it out.
Please help in laymans terms

Cheers in advance.

You can't pass throught to HDMI. You can pass through SCART (i.e. 989 SCART AV connector 1 to TV, connector 2 to XBox), but I think that is limitted to composite feed so quality will be rubbish.

As I understand it XBox360 doesn't have HDMI out so if you want good quality you'll have to use component or VGA out which you can feed directly to your PJ, you can then use the PJ to switch. The other most obvious option is to buy an AV amp with HDMI switching and component to HDMI up conversion, that way you still only need the HDMI feed to your PJ. You may also be able to buy a compnent to DVI/HDMI converter box and then use an HDMI switch box to feed the single HDMI PJ feed.

I have a hdmi switch box on order, so I guess the best solution would be a component > DVI/HDMI convertor box.
Anyone know of a good one ?

Had a quick look, seems like a cheap one may be hard to come by...

I use a component switchbox to run Xbox, DVD, cable digital and FTA digital to my projector (and TV too by the way) - not sure if component to DVI/HDMI would be much better. If the component input on the projector is spare just run the Xbox directly to the projector - component cables are relatively cheap?

Cheers

Ideally, running the component to the PJ would be easiest & best.
However, I have just moved in to my new home & all the cinema room work has been completed, all cables from PJ go straight through into the ceiling & run 10m across to corner area where everything is controlled from.
So it would mean ripping up carpets, floor hatches, fishing a cable through etc.... nightmare !!!
I did'nt plan on putting the 360 there, a big mistake in hindsight.

And of course a compoent switch box will be of limited use if you intent to move to HD...
